A huge thanks to staff and pupils at Meersbrook Bank Primary School for inviting me along to their school assembly. We spoke about why I decided to become an MP, the kind of work my job involves and why it’s important they take part in democracy from the start in things like school council elections.

After speaking I asked the children to suggest some of the laws they’d like to see made to change the country. Unlike previous visits there weren’t any suggestions about dinosaurs but we did hear some interesting ideas including changing the materials used for home building, preventing crime including car theft, and supporting more environmentally friendly transport.
