Louise Haigh MP Fighting for Sheffield's future
This weekend I had a really fascinating visit to Ice Sheffield to meet the Sheffield Steelkings, our very own competitive para ice hockey team.
The Olympic sport is played on sledges moving at up to 40mph and is particularly popular with amputees and ex-military players. The Steelkings are one of just a handful of teams who play competitively during the summer months – with others in Hull, Peterborough, Cardiff and Manchester. They’ve been going for four years now, and are hoping to have the sport included in the Invictus Games.
