I’ve visited Valley Park Primary in Gleadless Valley this week to speak to pupils learning about the women’s suffrage movement. As part of the visit I asked them about what they’ve learned and was impressed with their grasp of such an important historical moment. It’s especially relevant as we are 100 years from the first women winning the right to vote, and important that children as young as five are being encouraged to engage with this piece of the past.

We also had the chance to take questions about the role I perform as their MP, and I was also given a tour of the school.
