Thank you for contacting me about care for people at the end of their life under the NHS.

I agree that those who are reaching the end of their life need to continue to receive the best possible care available to them to keep them as comfortable as they can be. Sadly some people cannot have their last wish of dying at home and so we need to ensure that hospital is as supportive and as comfortable as possible.

As requested I have written to NHS England and the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to ask them to make sure that end of life care is a priority in the long term for the NHS. As soon as I have received a response I will contact you again.
