I was glad to have the chance to meet with Friends of Richmond Park recently. They’re a great group who are very active and absolutely dedicated to the park. We discussed the important issue of nuisance bikes, and I’ve made clear my commitment to getting it sorted out. I’ll be continuing to raise this matter with the local police.

We also had a chat about the upcoming Richmond Festival at the start of August, getting the swings replaced and of course the funding cuts. The tireless work that groups such as these do to protect and promote our parks in the face of diminishing resources thanks to brutal cuts is helping preserve them for future generations and I’m so grateful to the work of volunteers such as the Friends of Richmond Park.
