Last week I visited Lowedges School as part of UK Parliament Week, exploring how Parliament works and how they can get involved in changing their communities for the better.

Last time I was there litter and provision of bins was an issue the pupils were concerned about, and we’re pleased that more bins have been added in Lowedges near Gresley Road. But litter remains an issue, so it was encouraging to see teachers, pupils and parents joining in with a litter pick last Thursday.

I had the chance to speak to the School Council about their action plan, and what they want to do to improve the state of their school, including action to clean up the playground.
