I’ve been working with the Friends of the Fish Pond in Woodthorpe, whose campaign to restore the pond on the border of Woodthorpe and Stradbroke has been covered recently in the Star. They’re looking for sources of funding to help them in their aims and to preserve the wildlife which lives there, and hope that they can restore the pond to how attractive it once was.

This comes after recent public meetings my I held in Woodthorpe with local councillors to discuss the issues of crime and anti-social behaviour which residents in the area have been concerned about. I’ve also recently visited The Link in Stradbroke, who have been doing excellent work providing activities and meals for kids over this summer. It’s obvious there are some great community campaigns going on in the area.
