Louise Haigh MP Fighting for Sheffield's future
Thanks to Revd Bob Evans for inviting me to visit CafeCare at Heeley Parish Church this month. People of all ages, cultures and religions are invited to enjoy a cup of tea and a friendly chat at this lovely community cafe every Tuesday between 11am and 1.30pm.
The Church recently became aware that there were a number of residents in the local community who were feeling isolated and so wanted to set up a space for people to socialise and receive support. It was great to speak to Revd Bob about the cafe’s role in helping people to feel less lonely by providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
The cafe is being run by church volunteers and members of the Time Builders volunteering scheme, which helps people to develop skills and do good in their community. Thanks to everyone involved in this really positive project.
