I used my recent appearance on Question Time to hold the Tories to account on their dreadful record in Government.

Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt have spent the past nine years supporting an ideologically-motivated austerity agenda that has led to savage cuts to public services across the board.

People in this country are struggling to make ends meet, are on zero hour contracts, and are forced to rely on food banks to feed themselves. 1 in 5 children are growing up in a vulnerable family background and young people are falling through the cracks of our underfunded youth services.

And yet, in an effort to court the Conservative Party membership, Hunt and Johnson are promising tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest individuals in society. It’s simply obscene.
