A Level results have been unfairly downgraded.
A Level results have been unfairly downgraded.

To everyone in Sheffield Heeley who got their A level results today, you should be incredibly proud of your hard work and everything that you have achieved in really difficult circumstances.

I know that there will be some of you feeling frustrated by results that have been unfairly downgraded and last minute changes which have left the system in chaos.

Universities UK have confirmed that any of you who are concerned that the grades you received today will affect your first choice university offer should get in touch with the admissions departments of the university you applied for.  Universities should be flexible in these unprecedented times.

My office has also been provided with a contact for Ofqual for queries about results.  If you have any emergency queries that you want to raise please get in touch with my office and we will see what we can do to raise there with Ofqual and get answers for you.

Contact me on louise.haigh.mp@parliament.uk  or 0114 250 8113.

I have also written to the Department for Education because schools are telling me that, to make matters worse, the process of appeal has not yet been published and the guidance that is available is vague.  Schools want to take prompt action in the best interest of their students so that they can secure their places at university but are being hindered by a lack of clarity and guidance on appeals.
