I welcome the publishing of guidance today on decision-making for the Victims’ Payments Scheme.

It is time for both Stormont and Westminster to act. A department must urgently be designated by the Executive to begin administering this scheme so it can become operational as soon as possible.

The Secretary of State should also step up and make funding available to cover the initial cost of this scheme, which is designed for victims of The Troubles right across the UK.

It is time for both Westminster and Stormont to deliver together on the commitments made to victims. No more excuses, this pension must now be delivered.
