There are clearly issues with the national programme for supply of the vaccine.

GPs in Sheffield have done fantastically well to vaccinate around 50,000 people since the Covid vaccine began to be rolled out a month ago. The government needs to make sure that these GPs get consistent supplies of the vaccine so that they can continue with this vital work.

Unfortunately, there are clearly issues with the national programme for supply of the vaccine, which is resulting in GPs expecting doses only to have them cancelled at very short notice or far more than is expected being delivered.

This is really hampering the ability of GPs to book appointments with their vulnerable patients and get people protected against COVID. Our GPs are doing a fantastic job delivering the vaccine but they need certainty and confidence of supply, and we all need the government to be straight with us about any issues in the national supply chain.
