Louise Haigh MP Fighting for Sheffield's future
Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed a restful Christmas and are feeling refreshed as we step into 2025.
The year ahead is particularly special for me, as I mark a decade of serving as your representative in Parliament. It has been an absolute privilege to support you over the past ten years, addressing the issues that matter most to you and working to make our community stronger and more connected.
Looking back, I am proud of the work we have done together. From supporting thousands of residents with issues like housing repairs, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, antisocial behaviour, and access to benefits, to addressing national and international concerns, I’ve been honoured to advocate on your behalf. I’ve also had the pleasure of visiting schools across the constituency, speaking with the next generation about democracy, safety in their communities, and the urgent need to tackle climate change.
And at a national level, I am proud to have delivered public ownership of our railways, public control of our buses and legislation on greener flying.
I’ve been equally committed to supporting local community groups and businesses, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to thrive. It’s your stories and your voices that inspire me every day.
As we move into 2025, I will continue to fight for every resident. My priorities remain clear: securing safe and affordable homes, ensuring communities are places where everyone feels safe, and championing reliable and affordable public transport so that you can travel easily to work, leisure, and beyond.
I’m here to support you. If there is anything I can do to help this year, whether on local or national issues, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can reach me at Louise@LouiseHaigh.org.uk.
