Louise Haigh MP Fighting for Sheffield's future

Commenting on today’s news that the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government has announced an extra £350,000 to protect rough sleepers this winter.
Louise Haigh MP for Sheffield Heeley said:
“It’s fantastic news that the government is tripling the emergency funding to support Sheffield’s efforts to tackle homelessness this winter and that Sheffield has been awarded more than £350,000. This funding come on top of the funding announced last year for the city.
“Over the last 14 years homelessness and rough sleeping has risen and is not far too prevalent an issue.
“As one of the richest countries in the world, no one should find themselves without a home they can call their own. There is some amazing work carried out by the Council and charities across the city and this funding will be used to help break the cycle of homelessness, ensuring more resources will be available for workers on the frontline and seeing more families out of temporary accommodation.”
