Thank you for contacting me in relation to short term loans, interest payments when paying back the loan, and that doorstep loan companies are still taking advantage of people in vulnerable financial positions, despite recent steps taken by the Government.  I absolutely agree that we need to do everything in our power to ensure that any loopholes are properly addressed.  It is very worrying that companies such as Oakham and Quick Quid appear to be exploiting such loopholes and if they are not they need to face immediate legal action.

I have asked several questions in Parliament and I have written to the Secretary of State for Business to ask that he addresses your concerns and as soon as I have received a response I will contact you again.
