In some good news, which demonstrates the kind of things MPs do locally and why it’s helpful to get in touch, I was contacted by a constituent who volunteers with the NHS but doesn’t receive the NHS discount that staff are entitled to at facilities like Graves Leisure Centre. I raised it with the Council and I’m pleased that they’ve announced a change in policy, meaning that NHS volunteers will now receive a 15 per cent discount, as well as all NHS staff.
