Louise Haigh MP Fighting for Sheffield's future
Amidst all the Brexit chaos, people are still living their lives and experiencing real problems. This week I raised with the new Education Secretary the numbers of children who are excluded or who are forced to be home educated because there isn’t enough SEN support:
In response, he claimed that the number of exclusions has fallen since Labour were in power. Anyone who’s had any experience of the education system over the last nine years will know this is nonsense.
The House of Commons Library have given me these stats which proved they’ve gone up quite significantly:
I will not stop standing up for the rights of parents and children who have SEN and all our children who are being badly let down by Tory cuts to the education system.
