I’ve called on the UK Government to release a report into compensation for victims of IRA attacks involving Libyan-supplied weapons. There has been an intolerable delay in disclosing the report authored and delivered by William Shawcross last year, which has left victims feeling abandoned.

Victims of Libyan-sponsored terrorism must finally receive the compensation that they deserve and it’s disgusting that long-overdue action is now being delayed or potentially stopped.

In Parliament, I also asked the government why the pensions scheme for victims of the Troubles that was passed into legislation earlier this year has not been set up or paying out despite the legal deadline having passed.

The UK Government and Northern Ireland Executive must act urgently to honour their legal and moral commitments to these victims.
