Louise Haigh MP Fighting for Sheffield's future
Commenting on the Covid recovery funding extension, Shadow Transport Secretary Louise Haigh MP said:
“Labour have been demanding action for months, and while ministers sat on their hands, buses have been axed.
“With fares soaring and routes being cut, passengers need more than a sticking plaster administered at the last minute when the damage has already been done.
“Ministers must finally come clean on the cuts buried in their Bus Back Better strategy, which has left more than half of communities without any funding to improve shockingly bad bus services.
“And they should learn from the ambition of Labour leaders across the country who are fighting for lower fares and better routes to deliver a sustainable future for buses.”
