Avanti West Coast have been given millions of pounds whilst not providing a basic service for rail passengers. They are now set to have their contract renewed.

The system is broken and Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps should have stripped the contract by now and run it in the public interest.

Reportedly, the reason this hasn’t happened is because they did not want to ‘hand a win to the unions’.

This means that the Tories will allow Avanti to keep ripping off the taxpayer.
