Mayor of South Yorkshire Oliver Coppard has announced this morning that he is capping bus and tram fares at £2 from November.

Louise Haigh MP for Sheffield Heeley, said:

“It’s great news that the mayor is going to cap bus and tram fares across South Yorkshire from the beginning of November. This will have a huge impact for so many passengers across the region.

“In the middle of a cost of living and a climate crisis, making public transport affordable, accessible and reliable is essential. Our Labour Mayor is doing everything he can to make that happen, but we need a Labour government working hand in hand to truly transform our public transport network.”
