Louise Haigh MP Fighting for Sheffield's future
Shell has announced that they have made $40billion profit for the last year.
The astronomical profits that have been announced by Shell are utterly obscene. At a time when the country is in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis and many households are struggling to pay their energy bills, it is indefensible for a company to be posting record profits from the proceeds of war.
Households will be facing an energy price hike of 40% in April, the government and the Prime Minister are too weak to stand up for the public and properly extend the windfall tax.
Only Labour has a plan to tackle the cost-of-living crisis now to cut bills and tax these companies properly.
